Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 2/3 cup of milk
- 6 apples
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C or 350°F. Prepare a rectangular pan with cooking spray.
- Peeled the apples and cut them in half. Discard the seeds and stem. Then, with a sharp knife, cut slices into the apple half without touching the bottom part. Reserve them.
- Sift all the dry ingredients in a small bowl: flour, baking powder and salt.
- In a stand mixer or a bowl with an electric mixer, beat the softened butter and sugar until creamy. Add the vanilla extract and egg. Beat it well, and finally, add the milk and the flour mixture. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Accommodate the 12 apple halves into 4 rows by 3 apples.
- Mix 1/3 of a cup of sugar with the ground cinnamon. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the apples.
- Bake the coffee cake for approximately 25-30 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean. Let it cool down before serving.
