The recipe that initiates my passion for food: Honey Cookies

Honey Cookie

A recipe from my childhood, the one that turns cooking into a passion. A straightforward recipe to bake with your kids. You will love the soft texture the honey adds to the recipe.

Ingredients

8 tablespoon flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

4 tablespoon unsalted butter, at room temperature

4 tablespoon sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 tablespoon honey

Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven at 180°C and prepare two baking trays with parchment paper.
  • Sift all the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder and salt and set aside.
  • Beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Add the egg, vanilla and honey to the mixture. Finally, incorporate the dry ingredients and mix well.
  • Make little balls (1 tablespoon) and press them a little into the baking tray. Let it have some space in between, and if you want, you can put some sprinkles over them—the favourite part of my toddler.
  • Bake them for 15 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown, rotating the trays in the middle of the bake.
