Super Easy and Crunchy Apple Oats Crumble Recipe
This apple Oats Crumble is one of my favourite apple desserts. It has basic ingredients but is packed with flavour, and you can use all those sweet apples in season right now. It is the perfect dessert for a heavy dinner because it is not overpowering.

Ingredients
Filling:
- 8-10 Apples (any kind of apples you like)
- 1/2 cup of Sugar
- 1 teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of Ground Cloves
- 1/2 cup of sultanas or raisins
Crumble:
- 1/2 cup of Unsalted Butter
- 1/2 cup of White Sugar
- 3/4 cup of Oats
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C or 350°F and lightly grease an oven-proof mould. You can use a cooking spray for that.
- Peel and cut the apples into thin slices. Put the slices into a microwave-proof container with a lid and cook them for 7-8 minutes until tender. Remove from the container and combine them in a large mixing bowl with the sugar, cinnamon, cloves and sultanas. Set the warm apples aside.
- Cut the cold butter into tiny squares and pour it into a mixing bowl for the topping. Add the sugar, oats and salt. Mix all the ingredients by rubbing the ingredients between your hands or with two forks to make a texture like coarse breadcrumbs. Set aside.
- To assemble, throw the apples into the greased mould and even them around the pan. Then, throw the crumble mixture into the warm apples and even it so all the mould is covered with the topping ingredients. Bake it for 45 minutes or until the oatmeal topping is golden brown.
- Let it rest for a few minutes until it is warm, and serve it with your favourite ice cream, whipped cream or custard.
Notes
- You can change the apples for pears, peaches, rhubarb, etc.
- You can serve your apple crumble with your favourite ice cream and caramel sauce.
- It will keep nice if you store it in the refrigerator up to 5 days. You need to microwave it for a few seconds to warm it.
