17 Apr “Lenguas de Gato” Buttery Biscuits
“lenguas de gato” is a popular biscuit in Peru to take with your coffee or tea. The translation will be cat’s tongue biscuit, but as weird at it sounds they are a delicate buttery and crispy biscuit. You will see that is an easy recipe with few ingredients, so I encourage you to try it.
Ingredients:
125 grams of butter at room temperature
1 cup of flour
1 cup of powdered sugar
1 tablespoon of milk
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
Prep:
- Preheat the oven at 180°C. Prepare two baking trays with parchment paper.
- Beat with a manual whisker the butter and vanilla until it turns creamy. Add the sugar, milk and egg and incorporate everything well. Finally, add the flour and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a piping bag with a round tip and make 4cm strips leaving a cm between each other. Bake them for 12 minutes or until golden. Change the tray in the middle of cooking so every biscuit cook at the same time.
- Enjoy them with a cup of tea or coffee.
