20 Oct Meringue
A recipe that can help you from leftovers, you can do it like little drops like this time or discs so you can use for assembly a dessert with them. You can have them by their own or add some caramel, dulce de leche, lemon curd, etc. I love them cause they feel crunchy on the outside but sticky on the inside.
Ingredients:
6 egg whites
2 cups of sugar
1 teaspoon of cream of tartar
2 teaspoons vanilla
Prep:
- Preheat the oven at 100ºC. Prepare the baking trays with parchment paper.
- Pour the egg whites, sugar and cream of tartar in a bowl. We are going to beat them over a boiling water pan (bain marie) until it form hard peaks. It will be 7 to 10 minutes with a hand mixer. Add the vanilla.
- Pipe the mixture with a piping bag or spoon the mixture into the baking tray.
- Bake the meringues for 1 hour and then open the oven door and let them cool in the oven. You can enjoy them by themselves or just add the filling of your choice. Enjoy!
