10 Aug Homemade Spanish Ham Croquettes
Every time you think of Spanish “tapas”, you will inevitably think about croquettes. Spaniards will make croquettes from different flavours, but one of the most iconic will be the Spanish Ham Croquette.
A simple recipe, but sometimes simple things are better. These croquettes are not an exception. The Ham Croquettes will be good as an appetizer or for a football night with some beers.
Ingredients:
Ham
Onion
butter
flour
milk
bread crumbs
oil
You make a thick bechamel and add the Ham and previously fried onions. Form some balls or tubes with the mixture, rollover flour, beaten egg and bread crumbs. I fried them in hot oil.
Frequently Asked Questions about Spanish Ham Croquettes
- Can I make them in advance? Yes, it is better to make the bechamel filling the day before and rest in the refrigerator. You will have a better consistency to make the cylinder croquettes.
- Can I Use something different than Ham? You can use the same bechamel base and add cheese, chorizo, other veggies, etc.
