Delicious Pizza Dough

Pizza is a very common meal, but super yummy. If you want to send this to the next level and make it a good date night meal, you could make it from scratch and impress your partner with your cooking skills. Also if you are very organized or don´t have much time that night you could prep it the day before and keep it in the refrigerator or even better you could freeze it for 3 months and just move it to the refrigerator the night before using or leave outside a couple of hours before using. 

The other thing I love about Pizza is that you could keep it simple and make a Pizza Margarita (sauce, mozzarella, tomato and basil) or be very creative and add as many ingredients as you want. 

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 package active dry yeast

1 tsp salt

1 cup of warm water 

2 tbsp olive oil

Prep:

  1. In a mixing bowl put 1 cup of flour, the yeast, salt. Add the warm water and oil. (remember the water should be warm, not hot) Beat this mixture with a spatula for 5 minutes or if you have an electric mixer for 3 minutes. Then add the remaining flour with the spoon as many as you can, if there is some of the flour you could not mix it with the spoon don´t worry we will achieve this in the next step. 
  2. Slightly flour a surface and turn your dough with the remaining flour if you have some. Knead the dough with your hands for approximately 8 minutes or until is smooth and elastic. Form a ball. Slightly grease a bowl with olive oil and put the dough inside and turn the dough ball so it´s cover with the oil. Cover the bowl with a film and towel and let it rest for 10 minutes in a warm place. (normally I will put it beside my stove because the A/C doesn´t get much there)
  3. Put the dough in a lightly floured surface, divide it in half and roll it with a rolling pin in the shape that you want. (you could freeze one half or make a second pizza). Roll the border, so you could have a barrier for your ingredients and pinch the rest with a fork. This will prevent to raise and deliver a much crispier crust. 
  4.  Preheat the oven at 190ºC and cook the dough for approximately 15 minutes or until is golden brown. Then you could add the tomato sauce, cheese and all the toppings you like. Go to the oven for 7 to 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
